Ways to Give

Our Library is an essential resource and media center that benefits every Pound Ridge resident. If you’re interested in helping the Foundation support this valuable institution, we have several ways to do just that. From donations to volunteering and everything in between, the Foundation offers everyone a way to positively impact our town and community.

Donate

To grow, improve, and continue to meet the community’s needs, the Library relies on you—local residents, businesses, and foundations—for your generosity. The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, so your donation is 100% tax-deductible and you’ll receive a donor letter for tax purposes.

We make it easy to support the library by accepting donations via:

Check and money order donations can be made payable and mailed to: Pound Ridge Library Foundation, P.O. Box 515, Pound Ridge, NY 10576

Here’s how to get started:

Recurring Gifts

Recurring donations—made monthly, yearly, or on any frequency you choose—provide the Foundation a predictable cash flow to help facilitate improvements at the Library.

ONE-TIME DONATIONS

The Foundation gratefully accepts all financial contributions, regardless of size. We use every part of every dollar donated to improve our Library, which, in turn, makes lasting impacts on our community.

ENDOWMENTS OR PLEDGES

Interested in making a more substantial contribution of $5,000 or more? Individuals, businesses, and foundations can contribute lump-sum endowments or can spread out payments by making 3- or 5-year pledges.

MATCHING GIFTS

Some employers match gifts and contributions made by employees, their spouses, and retired employees—doubling your impact. Check with your current or former employer to see if they offer corporate matching programs.

NAMING OPPORTUNITIES

Looking for a unique way to honor a friend or family member or leave your mark on your community? Donate to the Foundation in their name and attach it to a specific program, facility or piece of equipment in the Library.

DONATE APPRECIATED STOCKS AND SECURITIES

If you’ve owned stock for more than one year—and that stock has increased in value from your date of purchase—you can donate those securities to the Foundation. And when you donate them, neither you nor the Foundation will pay capital gains on the stock’s appreciated value.

Volunteer

Financial contributions are one way to invest in the Pound Ridge Library—but they’re not the only way. Donating your time and talents is another way to contribute to the Library’s future, and there are many ways to get involved.

JOIN AS A FOUNDATION FRIEND

Foundation Friends donate their time on an as-needed basis to volunteer at Foundation-sponsored events and activities. No regular meetings to attend. No special skills required. No commitment to maintain. But guaranteed fun. Contact us to find out more.

BECOME A LIBRARY ADVOCATE

Library Advocates spread news about upcoming events and opportunities and encourage others to get involved. Being an advocate can be as simple as contacting neighbors and reminding them of the importance of libraries as centers for learning, innovation, and opportunity.

SERVE ON THE FOUNDATION’S BOARD

The Foundation Board is currently composed of town residents who are committed to raising funds for the library’s maintenance and growth. Board Directors are volunteers who serve three-year terms (with a maximum of three consecutive terms), and there’s no limit to the number of Directors who can serve on the Board at any given time.
